Julia Thorsen has been a registered dietitian for over thirty years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Foods from Virginia Tech and completed internship requirements to become a registered dietitian in 1987. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health from George Mason University in 1994.
She currently is employed at Inova Fairfax Hospital and has worked for more than 25 years primarily in the oncology field. She also provides care in long term care and acute rehabilitation facilities and works as a dietary consultant for Oncology Rehab and Wellness Resources, which is a physical therapy program that uniquely focuses only on cancer prehabilitation and Rehabilitation.
She has worked closely as a team member within an outpatient radiation oncology department for 8 years and has also had the opportunity to provide nutrition telehealth.
In her free time, she enjoys exercising, walking, running, vacationing at the beach, and spending time with her family, which includes her husband and four children.
